Túir Faire (Watchtowers)
2020
In 2019 I was accepted for Drawn From Borders, a project which is part of Understanding the Decade of Centenaries, a project supported by the European Union’s Peace IV Programme. I have always been fascinated by the infrastructure of the Army watchtowers of south Armagh and in particular the icon imagery that has been left behind, now that the watchtowers have been dismantled. Túir Faire is a body of painting and painting installations that explore and probe the fundamentals of The Border and its watchtowers.
